Jesus’s resurrection gives hope for eternity, but not just that! It also brings hope for our lives here on Earth.
Let’s read together what the apostle Paul says in Romans 5:17: “For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!” (the Bible, NIV)
You are called to reign in this life, not to be crushed by the surrounding circumstances or doom and gloom.
Jesus understands perfectly:
- That trials or difficulties may overwhelm us,
- That the loss of a loved one can devastate us,
- How painful a breakup can be,
- Or how living with financial difficulties can create anguish.
However, God is reminding you today that you’re the one who reigns, not your trials!
Look with me at this revealing verse in the Passion Translation: “But now, how much more are we held in the grip of grace and continue reigning as kings in life, enjoying our regal freedom through the gift of perfect righteousness in the one and only Jesus, the Messiah!”
Wonderful, isn’t it? Here on this Earth, you are already an heir, and this position will continue in heaven where you’ll reign beside the King of Kings: “To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.” (Revelation 3:21, NIV)
By His death and resurrection, God has done everything to ensure that the power of His new life is at work in your life, now and forever.
You see…your life is called to reflect His power! Which is nothing like the life of defeat the enemy would like you to embrace.
Reign in your life…His resurrection power belongs to you! You weren’t born to live crushed but to live in victory, right now.
Don’t let the trials defeat, dominate, or control you…decide today to reign over them in this life where God has placed you.
Be blessed and enjoy this Easter Sunday with the King of Kings!
