Life is full of choices, decisions, of yes’s and no’s. Naturally, all of us want to make the right choice.
In Proverbs 3:5-6, we read, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart…” Trust God without reservation, without “buts” or “what ifs.” Trust with complete, wholehearted faith that He truly wants the best for you.
- “and lean not on your own understanding.” As human beings, we are limited…and our understanding of things is as well. We’re limited in space and time, and each of our decisions can only be made according to the information available to us. This is why, if you want to make the right choice(s), the Bible invites you to rely on a superior understanding…God’s! Past, present, future…nothing is hidden from Him.
- “in all your ways acknowledge Him.” It’s a choice to invite God into your decision-making process. To ask His opinion. To seek to know what He thinks, even if it means that He may see things differently than you do. It’s your choice, but if you invite Him into your life in this way, He will act!
- “and He shall direct your paths.” It’s as if you find several different paths before you, without being able to see which one will lead you to the right destination. The Lord promises in this verse to reveal the right path to you. The one that’s the best for you!
Make the right choice…to trust and rely on God in all of your decisions!
