“I have less and less faith because my situation isn’t changing, and I’m doubting more and more.” This is what one “A Miracle Every Day” reader sent me. I believe this is a situation many people have faced or will face in the future. That’s why, throughout this upcoming week, I’d like to talk with you about effective keys to build your faith. Every day, you’ll read about a new key designed to open the doors that have, until now, remained closed before you.
Today, the first key comes directly from Jesus’s mouth: “‘I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.’” (the Bible, John 16:33, NLT)
Jesus is sharing with His disciples the account (to come) of His arrest. He goes so far as to tell them that they’re going to abandon Him: “‘[Y]ou will be scattered, each one going his own way, leaving me alone.’” (see John 16:32)
I don’t know what you’re going through…but maybe heaven seems mute and you’re losing courage. Yet, you’ve surrendered yourself and have truly given your life to Jesus. Despite this, you feel alone, lost at sea…However, this impression of loneliness, even if it’s understandable, is wrong, of course! Because Jesus was alone on the cross so that you would NEVER be alone again.
When you realize that Jesus is with you, that He has accomplished everything for you, then nothing can make you lose confidence in Him anymore. No one will be able to stop you in your destiny…you are not alone!
Of course, He didn’t promise that everything would be rose-colored, but He gave you His peace so that you wouldn’t be destitute in the face of life’s trials. Remember what Jesus says to you – “Take heart, because I have overcome the world” – and look at Him.
With Jesus, all things are possible:
- You are succeeding.
- You are getting through this trial.
- You are walking in peace!
I invite you to pray with me…“Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me Your peace and for overcoming the world. I declare that nothing can stop me because I am following You; I am not alone! I grasp this truth by faith and take heart again. With You, I am an overcomer. Amen.”
